Elizabeth Dowdeswell is the Lieutenant Governor.

13.  Highschool Treaty Education Bill

All highschool students must take a course (to graduate) on the treaties in their province.
The topics covered will include:
Treaties of the province
Off reserve and on reserve First Nations
Non treaty Nations in the province
Status vs non status
Urban First Nations
Treaty lands
First Nations treaty rights
Settler responsibilities
Settler benefits.
How and why they are important today

This would be a history or social science course at the grade 11 level.

The purpose of this bill is to further educate the population and to help reduce racism in future generations.   It will also help future governments make the right decision by knowing they have responsibility to treaties and not to break th anymore.
